Ivan Iossifov is an associate professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and a core faculty member at the New York Genome Center (NYGC). He obtained a master’s degree in computer science from Sofia University in Bulgaria and a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics from Columbia University.

Iossifov’s research interests are in the areas of genomics and systems biology and their application to the study of neuropsychiatric disorders like autism, schizophrenia and cancer. At the NYGC, Iossifov’s research focuses on large autism-sequencing projects. He is facilitating collaborations with groups both within the NYGC and outside the NYGC that study other common human diseases.
