Yudong Gao is an assistant professor and McNair Scholar in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine and the McNair Medical Institute at the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and completed his postdoctoral training at Duke University with Scott Soderling.
Gao joined Baylor College of Medicine as a faculty member in 2023. His laboratory utilizes multi-omics target identification and high-throughput phenotyping strategies to discover functional protein interaction networks in the brain. Using these interaction networks as a roadmap, Gao seeks to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms of neurodevelopment and neuropsychiatric conditions, and further develop innovative approaches to alleviate phenotypes by modulating these experimentally evidenced interactions.
