Shigeki Iwase is an associate professor in the human genetics department and pediatrics department at the University of Michigan Medical School.
The focus of the Iwase lab is to understand the chromatin regulatory mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental conditions, including ASDs. The group employs chromatin biochemistry, functional genomics and mouse genetics. Leveraging their expertise in chromatin biology, the group aspires to fill the knowledge gap between chromatin-regulator mutations and mechanisms underlying ASDs.
