Mollie Meffert is an associate professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Stanford University and an M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from Stanford School of Medicine. Her research focuses on how cells in the nervous system make decisions to turn genes on or off and how those decisions are remembered in processes such as development or plasticity and in injury or disease. Meffert is the recipient of the Hamilton Smith Award for Innovative Research, NIH Career Development Award, Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and Sontag Foundation Distinguished Scientist Award. She is also a mentor in the 2024 SURFiN program.
