Emily Eiss

Emily Eiss is a mentor in the 2024 SURFiN program. She is a graduate student in Mollie Meffert’s lab at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Eiss holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Pennsylvania State University at Erie, The Behrend College. Her research focuses on microRNA control of mitochondrial function and gene expression in the mammalian nervous system. Eiss is the recipient of the NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual National Research Service Award (F31).
