Paul Wang has assumed the role of Senior Scientific Director, SFARI Pharmaceutical and Biotech Relations. In this role, Wang will serve as a liaison to industry, raising awareness of SFARI’s research resources, facilitating compliant access to them and ensuring the data they collect is optimal for translational and clinical studies. These resources include clinical and genomic data on autism and neurodevelopmental disorders (provided through the Simons Simplex Collection, Simons Foundation Powering Autism Research (SPARK) and Simons Searchlight), as well as patient-derived stem cell lines, postmortem brain tissue (provided through Autism BrainNet) and recruitment support for research and clinical studies (provided through Research Match). Already widely used by academic investigators, these resources hold great potential for helping industry partners to advance autism science and improve the lives of autistic individuals and their families. Wang looks forward to this new role, and to furthering autism research across sectors.
