We would like to inform the SFARI community that there has been a recent change in leadership.

Louis Reichardt, director of SFARI since 2013, finished his tenure here on September 28, 2020. A search committee to identify a new director was established in December 2019, and an announcement will be made as soon as a new director is appointed.

John Spiro will serve as interim director of SFARI during this transition period. Prior to this, Spiro was SFARI’s deputy scientific director. Spiro will oversee all SFARI’s programs in the interim period and will help to make the transition to the new leadership as seamless as possible.

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Louis Reichardt for his directorship of SFARI. The research program has made important advances during the past seven years under his leadership, and it is well positioned to continue advancing autism research.

We wish Louis and his family all the best in their new endeavors.
