Are these subtypes of neurons also distinct during prenatal periods?
Good question -- presumably these neurons establish their apical dendrites and projection targets early in development, so I would guess the answer is yes, although I don't know the exact timepoint for certain.
Is the inhibitory input to CC and CT neurons different?
We are currently studying this. Stay tuned! Hopefully we will have an answer soon.
Are only PFC neurons affected or are connections with neurons in other areas also affected?
We have not looked at this yet, but in models like VPA, abnormalities are known to be present in many cortical areas, so I would guess similar themes hold in other regions of neocortex.
