In her quest to capture young people’s true selves on film, the photographer Stacie Turner launched a project focusing solely on children with autism.
She says that most children put on a social persona for the camera, but the children with autism that she photographs are “incredibly honest in front of the lens.”
She plans to compile the final images in a book, along with statements or artwork by the children describing themselves.
